luigi bertolotti Posted November 20, 2009 Share #2701 Posted November 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) It surely isn't those peaks just on the west side of the Passo Sella ?? Torri di Sella, with the small so called "Locomotive"... small peak at the end... no, Jaap, you ought to visit some other place in Dolomites... Badia/Gardena/Sella/etc.. is indeed THE HEART of... I understand if one comes back there year after year... but many other splendid location exist not far, and from Holland the difference in traveling time is of course negligible... Advertisement Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Hi luigi bertolotti, Take a look here "Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted November 20, 2009 Share #2702 Posted November 20, 2009 I thought not- they look different, but you know, I only come there twice a year, and even in this small area there is still so much to be seen.
luigi bertolotti Posted November 20, 2009 Share #2703 Posted November 20, 2009 Gruppo di Brenta, Madonna di Campiglio? Brenta , RIGHT !!! Now... as I asked... try to give a name to the left peak... I'll wait for sometime... in case none does, you're are the winner...
jaapv Posted November 20, 2009 Share #2704 Posted November 20, 2009 That was the view from my hotel there, many years ago!! Still, I don't recall the name of the peak, nor even the hotel, so it seems you have a winner
etibeti Posted November 20, 2009 Share #2705 Posted November 20, 2009 Campanile di Brenta?
Guest suilvenman Posted November 21, 2009 Share #2706 Posted November 21, 2009 Is it your turn again, Rob? Cheers, Ken.
luigi bertolotti Posted November 21, 2009 Share #2707 Posted November 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Uhm... maybe not yet... Etibeti has made the name of the most famous peak of Brenta... the one I refer to in my pic is a bit less famous, and the name is more "abstract"... ok, I agree this is a question that restricts the possible "win" to climbers... I'll wait until... let's say after lunch Central Europe time: Etibeti is clearly the possible winner...
luigi bertolotti Posted November 21, 2009 Share #2708 Posted November 21, 2009 OK, Etibeti, it's up to YOU !!! Btw... the peak's name is "Cima dell'Ideale" "Ideal's peak" - so named by first climbers of its classic East face in the '20s (a sustained 4th grade), in honour of the "ideal" of mountain climbing... luigi bertolotti Posted November 21, 2009 Share #2710 Posted November 21, 2009 Is this Germany ? If so, I try Eisleben - birthplace of Luther
etibeti Posted November 21, 2009 Share #2711 Posted November 21, 2009 (edited) No Luigi, it´s not Germany as we know it now and so it can´t be Luther. Ther person lived a few centuries after Luther. Edited November 21, 2009 by etibeti

Guest suilvenman Posted November 22, 2009 Share #2717 Posted November 22, 2009 Thanks, Andreas. For this one, I'd like the name of the area/district from which the photo was taken. For a starter clue, check out You Tube - David Bowie: "Let's Dance" at around 3.14. Cheers, Ken. Welcome, dear visitor!
