Andreas, you are on the right track. The Holstein cows are also known as Holstein-Friesians. The picture is from Ost Friesland, that used to be established by Napoleon as part of the Kingdom of Holland (so not the Netherlands) but now is in Niedersachsen of Germany. Name of the town and the surrounding area is “not full”... ganz einfach..?

Well, the name of the schooner is 'Anny von Hamburg', but the place in question is obviously not Hamburg. 😊

I don't have any pictures at the moment, so I can only provide clues for somebody else. 🙂

... a little verse comes to mind, friendly banter between two competing little towns in East Frisia:

"In Aurich ist es schaurich... " = It's ghastly in Aurich...

to which the people of Aurich respond:

"In Leer noch viel mehr..." = Much more so in Leer...

So my guess is: Aurich.
