Thanks, Dirk

I thought we might drift a bit away from landscapes and cities of the world to our cultural heritage and art.

What does this scene represent?

Perhaps an artist's studio where the artist and two or three students/assistants work together.

That’s right. In the back we see a 1:1 photo of the painter and in the front real furniture is placed to give an impression of the artist’s working environment. Now we want to know the artist, who painted only stills, quasi minimalistic

Here's a photo of a setup in his studio, meant to be painted as still

(how easy is it for painters to make a setup compared to photographers: they can just leave the rubbish in the background for what it is :) )

Could it be Giorgio Morandi?

Yes! Congrats.

There was an interesting exposition in Heerenveen Netherlands the last half year, with a combination of Morandi's work with work of a Dutch photographer. Her work consisted of details from architecture in Bologna, Morandi's home town, inspired by his stills. Here two examples: a still by Morandi and a photo of Ada Duker

Your turn Mich!

Okidoki!

With the painting it was an easy task, without it I got no further than "european painter who died in the second half of last century".

A landscape again, probably not to difficult...

Name the town

The sea seems Atlantic to me, or related, like Northsea, Irish... etc. And the land more Scottish than Irish or Welsh
