Gent, Moscou is apparently a part of it and has its names from a former presence of the Russian army. The buildings do not look Eastern European. I assume they prefer beer in Gent?

Excellent Andreas! When Napoleon was defeated in Waterloo, Russians soldiers were stationed in that part of Gent ('Ghent' in English).

Beer is very popular indeed, but 'jenever' is the stronger stuff that is served in both the southern and northern Netherlands.
