Apologies for the scan quality - a Plustek 7600i is on the way to me! Good luck, Jan Welcome, dear visitor! doubice Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6848 Posted January 26, 2011 Michael, Right continent, wrong country and quite far away (at least by European standards...). Just out of interest - why Aachen? best, Jan
Mauribix Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6849 Posted January 26, 2011 I would have said Como in Italy, but I never saw that statue.

Michael Geschlecht Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6852 Posted January 26, 2011 (edited) Hello Jan Aachen not for the city itself but more for the region. The building in the back, the water, the trees & other vegitation. This photo was taken in a place similar to the part of Europe where Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany & France all sort of meld together & become their own part of their own World. It is that area I meant. I do this contest mostly by seeing if the places are somewhere I know. Then I look @ the geology & geography, climate, vegetation & such. The architechture which also sometimes gives you a time frame & people are sometimes diagnostic. & so on. I don't use the computer for reference that often though I do use an atlas &/or dictionary on occasion. I did use a computer to find the name of a castle in Kyushu & to try to find the name of a park in Prague. Its interesting what stefan said because when I was thinking of Aachen I was also thinking Finland. doubice Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6853 Posted January 26, 2011 To sum up: not Italy, not Germany, not Scandinavia. Also not ....."the part of Europe where Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany & France all sort of meld (sic) together"........ Good luck, Jan
Michael Geschlecht Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6854 Posted January 26, 2011 (edited) Hello Again Jan, Looks like we are running out of countries here. Are we we in a country bordering the Adriatic? BTW: Meld is a really good word. Often used in card playing as well as the coming together of countries & cultures. Gaal Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6856 Posted January 26, 2011 Could it be a statue by Antony Gormley, maybe in the UK ?
doubice Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6857 Posted January 26, 2011 Looks like we are running out of countries here. Are we we in a country bordering the Adriatic? It is a landlocked country..... Here's a clue. Hum.... Finland....? As noted above - not in Scandinavia, hence not in Finland. Could it be a statue by Antony Gormley, maybe in the UK ? Not in the UK. With the above clue, the choice of countries has substantially narrowed.... Best, Jan
spylaw4 Posted January 26, 2011 Share #6858 Posted January 26, 2011 Then could we be thinking of ..... Switzerland, Austria, Hungary or one of the Slovak or Czech countries?
