Coming in for the kill...... Colonial bell tower of the Santo Domingo church in La Serena.

Best,

Jan

Well done Jan! Full marks. Over to you. Sorry phoehsl!

La Serena (well at least the older part) is an attractive and historic town at the mouth of the Elqui Valley. It's about an hour's flight north of Santiago and well worth a visit. Photo was taken on Christmas Day 2006 Digilux 2.

Thanks, Brian.

For the next riddle I would like to know where is this hall located. Not just the country ( ;) ) - name of the exact location. Should not be that difficult.....

Good luck,

Jan

Hello Jan,

The oak the furniture on the left is made of looks like a type of oak which grows in Germany.

Best Regards,

Michael

That is very well possible, Michael.

Unfortunately, I am not an expert on types of oak trees and definitely would not be able to tell from a photograph of a piece of furniture where the wood it was made of came from.....

Best,

Jan

OK, here we go:

LeicaBraz - no matter what country of origin the wood may be , we are not in Spain.

Gary - we are not in Santa Barbara either.

Olsen - the fireplace may have been 'hot' at times but definitely was not stolen...;) . Not Monte Casino - hence not Italy.

Too early for hints methinks.....

Good luck,

Jan

Still not Italy :p, not Greece, not Perú. And since Vatican is not Italy, it is not Vatican either.... I am sure that many of you have visited this place!

There was a subtle (and ever so subtle) hint in my previous response.........

Best,

Jan
