Makes me think of the same kind of "joke" on the Pont Valentré in Cahors (already posted)!

Cheers

Jan, this is a real funny brainteaser indeed. It’s the church of StJames in Brno. The story behind can be found after the link.

Czech & Slovak Republics - Google Bücher

Holger,

You are the man! Actually, the name of the church is 'Svaty Jakub', which would translate as St. Jacob. I don't know how Google came up with James being the English equivalent of the Czech Jakub.

The legend claims that a mason working on St. Jacob church was poking fun at his slower rivals completing an adjacent cathedral on Petrov Hill.

Your turn - well done!

Best,

Jan

Turkish photographer Ara Guler.

You got it! Famous Ara Güler, long year member of Magnum. He is more known by photos showing him in younger years like in THIS photo at the wall.

It’s your turn!

Ken obviously knew about the fact, that Ara Güler is indeed sitting in the ARA Cafe beneath his own flat in Istanbul ;)

@LeicaBraz

Thanks for your message.

Whoever took that photograph on the wall deserves to have the café named after him.

Cheers, Ken.

Come on Ken – you obviously knew about the solution! Wouldn't you mind to proceed?

Best

Thanks for that, Holger. I first came across Güler's superb photography a few years ago when I was researching the work of photographer and film director Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

I'm down to my last two now before needing to unearth and scan some more. I'll try this one -should be quite easy, I think, so I'd like the name of this town / city's most famous son.

(Apologies for rubbish scan quality).

Cheers, Ken.
