"Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --

This city is known for it's textile industry, started by a scottish quaker back in 1828. Here is another view. Showing the prominant theater, a magnificant art nevou building. They have a theatre festival every year....

Very good, Andreas! You are a true globetrotter. Over to you.

Well, with your hints google did the job ...

I will post something a little later

Didn't anyone of you (ex CIA agents et al) see the Finnish flag on the cabin cruiser?

my laptop is too small for that (and there is a lot of water in Finland)

Is this the Schafbergbahn and Wolfgangsee?

Best,

Jan

P.S. I hope I am wrong - I am running out of suitable digital material.....

Don't I know the problem! Only solution: book a flight to some remote place and don't forget to take your camera with you...

Frans,

Unfortunately, my work often interferes with my hobbies...... I have actually been on the Schafbergbahn but, many years before the onset of the digital age. Maybe I should finally invest in a decent scanner.....

Best,

Jan

Jan,

That's what I thought. I bought one, but I hardly ever do any scanning with it... After a lot of searching I seem to be able to still find some pictures in my digital picture library, but I also take my camera everywhere with me... I just have to make sure not to try to solve every 'Do you know the world?' question...

Damn... I should have claimed it was the Pike's Peak Railway and Manitou Springs....

Sorry to say this, but you are correct - excellent Jan! Have you been there?

Andreas,

Yes, I have. I visited and rode on many of Europe's interesting railways - the Zillertalbahn, Furka Oberalp, ZOJE (Zittau - Oybin - Jensdorf), Lauterbrunnen, Pilatus - and the list can go on. I have always claimed that we need hobbies to stay on the correct side of insanity so, along with photography I also dabble into model trains and their real-world equivalents.

I have to add my compliments for your photograph - reminds me of a similar one I have taken on the way up to Pilatus!

I'll need some time to come up with the next riddle so, patience please.

Best,

Jan
