StS Posted March 11, 2010 Share #3881 Posted March 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Could be Mt. Goode, which would mean you didn't drive there by car. I like the names of some of the mountains in the northern part, (Mt. Fury, Mt. Terror, Mt. Despair, Damnation Peak,...) Stefan

gearoido Posted March 11, 2010 Share #3882 Posted March 11, 2010 No not Mt. Goode. I did take the picture from a truck. In the old days there was a hotel that I think was at the base of the mountain on the rail line. GaryO
gearoido Posted March 12, 2010 Share #3883 Posted March 12, 2010 It would appear, judging from the activity in the last 12 hours, that there is little interest in my puzzle. Therefore I am retiring so that another can continue. The answer is three fingers mountain on the way to the Monte Cristo gold mine. The gold mine and its transfer of owners was the background for McCabe and Mrs. Miller. GaryO
jaapv Posted March 12, 2010 Share #3884 Posted March 12, 2010 Three- finger Mountain, a good name for the range. Ok, Gary, I'll help you by posting a riddle as well, albeit of another kind: Welcome, dear visitor! vertekijker Posted March 13, 2010 Share #3885 Posted March 13, 2010 Do I see 'LAX' and underneath '1907'? Doesn't look like the nature around the L.A. airport though, but more like some place in Europe. ------------- Frans

Unfortunately it was built before the airplane was invented and so died of neglect. Doug
