It would appear, judging from the activity in the last 12 hours, that there is little interest in my puzzle. Therefore I am retiring so that another can continue. The answer is three fingers mountain on the way to the Monte Cristo gold mine. The gold mine and its transfer of owners was the background for McCabe and Mrs. Miller.

Doesn't look like the nature around the L.A. airport though, but more like some place in Europe.

No, it's a memorial to the first LA airport. Unfortunately it was built before the airplane was invented and so died of neglect. :D
