Advertisement Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Hi John Thawley, Take a look here Rolex 24 at Daytona. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
MPerson Posted January 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 30, 2009 I was hoping you would have some with the D2 John. I watched it live over here and quite an interesting warm up to your season. My 10 yr old son is madly in love with Danica Patrick so he was a happy bunny too.
elansprint72 Posted January 30, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 30, 2009 Super set John; I've been telling everyone here for years what an excellent paddock camera that old thing is I recognise those turbine pipes- shot them at Le Mans last year when the car was over for the Classic and I used a D2. :D
John Thawley Posted January 30, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted January 30, 2009 Super set John; I've been telling everyone here for years what an excellent paddock camera that old thing is I recognise those turbine pipes- shot them at Le Mans last year when the car was over for the Classic and I used a D2. :D Thanks Pete. It's a bit of a struggle for me to work the camera in to my workflow... but I'm determined. I typically reserve my walk-around time to sessions that take place in the "bad light" ... early afternoon and such. I can't afford to be away from the track when the light is at its best. So, these are a bit simple and a little "snappy." It is good excercise using it though... you do have to be patient. People tend to move a little fast around the pits. LOL So, it was a little harder having the success I've had with the camera just walking around the neighborhood. Thanks again. JT

John Thawley Posted February 19, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted February 19, 2009 John - As always, superb light, color, detail and framing Interesting to me, though, that the light is a silghtly different color than 3 hours southwest to Sebring and nearly 5 hours southwest to Naples. Thanks for the kind words. JT
