lambroving Posted July 2, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Old favorite for a new audience. Curious to see how it looks here compared to the old Forum. SL, 135/2.8, Elpro, HD-
Advertisement Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Hi lambroving, Take a look here Dogwood. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted July 2, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2006 The same? This forum software will not change the way shots look at all. Your browser is the key factor.
gareth_c Posted July 2, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 2, 2006 I never saw this on the old forum and I'm not a huge fan of this subject area. Having said that I like this shot a lot, it seems to have everything going for it.
lambroving Posted July 2, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted July 2, 2006 Gareth, Appreciate the comment. Andy, In this case there is a minor improvement owing to the background. A darker background would be better IMO. Maybe not this dark, but darker, especially for color. http://gallery.leica-users.org/SL-Macro/LUG110?full=
stunsworth Posted July 2, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 2, 2006 Hi William, I played around with light and dark backgrounds on my website. In the end I settled on a neutral grey. I found that black or white could detract from certain images so compromised on something that looks remarkably like what we have here :-)... http://www.steveunsworth.co.uk/Albums/France_Spain_2005/index.htm It's a personal choice, you prefer the dark, I prefer the grey. I seem to remember that the colours were used selectable with this software, or that the mod could at least make different colour schemes available. lambroving Posted July 2, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted July 2, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve, Nice website! If you will recall, on the Testforum Andreas made a skin "for old eyes" which one could select at the bottom of the main page, not just English and Deutsch. This I would welcome here except that no everyone would be viewing the same. Of course, that happens anyway as some here are on Macs!
lambroving Posted July 2, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted July 2, 2006 Phil, Thanks. I'll post the more abstract version of this too which a few preferred, including a girl in Germany who now has printed a large version which hangs on the wall of her office. lambroving Posted July 2, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted July 2, 2006 Hello John, Glad you enjoyed. What's the weather like in Matlock today? Steamy and rain in sheets here in NJ.
jmr Posted July 3, 2006 Share #11 Posted July 3, 2006 William, Here in Tintwistle, which isn't that far from Matlock the weather's been entirely typical for a British summer - one hot, sunny day and a thunderstorm.
Guest Rowley Birkin QC Posted July 3, 2006 Share #12 Posted July 3, 2006 Rather dreary for a favourite; if I were you I would pop out and shoot some more subjects. From your copious suffixes you seem terribly well equipped. Rowley B.
robert_parker Posted July 3, 2006 Share #13 Posted July 3, 2006 William Nice, as it was before - I'm not convinced the the forum software doesen't generate a brighter image than the old one
billh Posted July 4, 2006 Share #14 Posted July 4, 2006 William, That is one of the nicest dogwood photos I have seen. I love those trees and every so often I have a go at them too.
