Doc Henry Posted January 26, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted January 26, 2009 I am glad you like this one too Thanks Stuart for comments About the Louvre, i think we need a lot of days to visit all the museum and a lot of nights to take pictures outside, with tripod if possible
stuny Posted January 27, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 27, 2009 Henri - I agree. Regarding the collection: to see La Gioconda (Mona Lisa) without crowds, go to the entrance on the opposite side of the Louvre (away from the popular Pei pyramids) before it opens, and when it opens go directly to see her. Within a half hour you'll not be able to get near her.

Doc Henry Posted January 28, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted January 28, 2009 How do you avoid the noise at such a high ISO?Caryl Caryl,After your question,i have verified the Iso for these pictures, they are at 160 Iso (and not at 640 as i said above):sorry for the mistake Usually,i took pictures up to 320 Iso without noise. With the M8 and the Lux 65 mm f:1,4 lens, it's easier to shoot with little light as you can see here (pictures without "treatment")
allamande Posted January 29, 2009 Share #12 Posted January 29, 2009 Henry, These are terrific! I particularly like the first image on this thread. As to how much time you need to do justice to this place, like the Metropolitan Museum in New York, I think you need a month to begin to at least scratch the surface! Thank you for these lovely images. They bring back fond memories. All the best, Ece
