bgreig Posted January 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just purchased a D-Lux 4, but the warranty materials with the camera speak of 2 years. I had seen posts here that the warranty was 3 years. Is there something I need to do to get the extra year?

jrh68uk Posted January 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2009 I just purchased a D-Lux 4, but the warranty materials with the camera speak of 2 years. I had seen posts here that the warranty was 3 years. Is there something I need to do to get the extra year? Register the camera on the Leica UK website (create a profile if not done so already). Once you've done this you're presented with the opportunity to download a certificate which gives you the extra year. Just done it myself Cheers. miami91 Posted January 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 22, 2009 A note for USA people: same thing applies. Register your D-Lux 4 on the owner's website ( https://owners.leica-camera.com/en/login ) and you'll have an opportunity to download the warranty certificate addendum that gives you a third year of coverage. miami91 Posted January 26, 2009 Share #9 Posted January 26, 2009 Hello there, can somebody post a link to the warranty page? I can't locate it. thanks If you're in the USA, I posted it above. Keep in mind, it's not a "warranty page" as such. Here's how it works (in the USA anyways): the camera comes with a two year warranty. You get a card with the camera documentation inside the box to that effect. This warranty card, along with proof of purchase, can be used to access warranty repairs for the first two years you own the camera. In addition to this, if you create a user profile on the owner's web site and register your purchase through that site, you can print a certificate (an addendum of sorts) that provides you with a third year of coverage.
