stuny Posted January 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mas - French for farmhouse, is a superb restaurant in Greenwoch Village, new to us. We went there soon after taking the photo in this section called Arc de Ben.

roguewave Posted January 7, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 7, 2009 Stuart, ironic that this fine French restaurant is on Downing Street, the center of old England in Greenwich Village. There's a very fine, tree shaded triangle park at the corner of Downing and 6th Ave. Also King Street is only one block south of Houston and has always had a large number of old English families as tenants. I lived on Leroy Street/St. Lukes Place for years. This part of the West Village is a jewel. Nice image. Pricey food.
stuny Posted January 7, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted January 7, 2009 Virgil - Thank you. Ben - Thank you. Though it is pricey, it is a very good value, far cheaper than similar fare in the Flat Iron, Midtown, Upper Eastside or Upper Westside districts. stuny Posted January 7, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted January 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) J-Claude & Harry - Thank you. The meal was superb, definitely in the first tier for Manhattan. One can order ala carte, or a 4-course tasting menu with choices, a 6-course tasting menu with choices, or let the chef decide what to prepare. We let the chef decide.
