stuartjpc Posted January 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everybody, I have a lens that I am trying to value, and I'm getting a lot of conflicting info. I have a leitz wetzlar 50mm 1:2/50 s.no 2244015. I know it was made in 1967, originally on a leicaflex. It is now fitted on my R4. Its in good order and works 100%, producing excellent images......... Any comments welcome......

JBA Posted January 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 5, 2009 With Leica R lenses, the important thing is whether it's a 1-cam, 2-cam, or 3-cam lens. The 1-cam will work with the Leicaflex standard, the 2-cam with the SL and the 3-cam with the SL2 and everything from that point onward. The 3-cam lenses will be worth the most because they are the most versatile.
luigi bertolotti Posted January 5, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 5, 2009 It is a Summicron 50, the classic normal lens for Leicas, still a very appreciable user item: not rare, value a lot depending on glass & cosmetic conditions and also by accessories like hood, caps, box etc... I'd say in the range 250-350 Euros.
