psquared Posted December 30, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) This one isn't so wild anymore. It hangs around the road near Scotty's Castle awaiting handouts from tourists. M8 + 90AA with a flash Thanks for looking, Peter

michali Posted December 30, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 30, 2008 Peter- Fantastic shot! (Not to detract from your superb capture, it's very sad that it's become habituated to people).

psquared Posted December 31, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted December 31, 2008 Gentlemen, Thank you for your comments. It is sad that some of these animals get habituated to humans. I saw it circling stopped cars on the way to the castle (with the camera stored in the back of the car). On the way back, I was prepared, with the camera, the lens I wanted on it, and the flash. Sure enough, it was there in the middle of the road, waiting for a car to come by. I was able to get an easy shot from the car, but I'm afraid that it's going to get run over one of these days. There are signs all over Scotty's Castle and elsewhere in the park not to feed these animals. I hope people follow through and the coyote(s) move away from dangerous cars. Yes, I think there is a general concensus that they are somewhat related (according to Wikipedia).
psquared Posted January 2, 2009 Author Share #13 Posted January 2, 2009 Yes wonderful picture it's seems so near .... but i think he is afraid of humansGreat work Peter and great patience...time seems so long when we wait Henri, You're right. Even though he's been accustomed to humans, I do think he's still wary. My dog would have no fear and come up to the car's window and jump up to greet me. That wasn't the case with the coyote. It was obvious that he wanted food, but he definitely kept some distance from the car. Thank you for commenting. Peter
