That is a beautiful shot Conrad. Was it sunrise or Sunset. Either are much more interesting as sea level.

Thanks Robert. It was indeed at sunset, a truly magical hour although I am partial to Dawn myself.

Cheers,

Andy - I guess my Christmas present is your bringing this thread back up! :) Thanks for the feedback, as always, it is appreciated. Spending the last remaining hours in Jakarta before spending the New Year in Bali. The One Day challenge should be interesting there...

conrad -

One of the best sunset shots I've seen in quite some time. Helping make this such a standout, beyond the fine light and colors, are the angle and the textural contrast between the smooth triangle of beach in the foreground, the relatively smooth sky, and the choppy, wind-swept water. Superb.

Which island in that huge, lovely country are you living on?

Thanks again guys for taking the time to comment.

Stuart - I normally live in Northern Sumatra although these days I'm travelling through Java. I just missed the floods the day I left.

All the best,

This is my first image post since moving to Indonesia. Unfortunately, I have little time to post and I am facing restricted web access due to poor bandwith.

One of the three beaches near Calang, Indonesia at sunset. R8/DMR, 19mm f/2.8 Elmarit R, 100ISO.

Best regards,

Conrad

What a fantastic shot! What kind/type of Leica Camera did you use?
