david_murray Posted December 22, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Can anyone tell me whether I can use the Panasonic LX-3 External Viewfinder DMW-VF1 on a Leica D-Lux 4? Also can I use the LX-3 Lens Adapter DMW-LA4 on the D-Lux 4? Thanks in advance. David. Murray Photography
Advertisement Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Hi david_murray, Take a look here LX-3 Accessories on a D-Lux4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cbretteville Posted December 22, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2008 David, Both of those you mention should work fine on the D-Lux 4. I believe the only ones that don't fit between the two are where the physical differences between the cameras come into play: the ones relating cases as well as the Leica hand grip will not be fitting the LX3. farnz Posted December 22, 2008 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2008 Hi, Can anyone tell me whether I can use the Panasonic LX-3 External Viewfinder DMW-VF1 on a Leica D-Lux 4? Also can I use the LX-3 Lens Adapter DMW-LA4 on the D-Lux 4? ... David, I have the 'LA4 and it is definitely compatible with my D-Lux4. I don't have the 'VF1 but it uses a standard hotshoe mount so it will be fine on a D-Lux 4. I use the Voigtlander 21 mm so it proves that the D-Lux4's hotshoe is standard. Pete. farnz Posted December 23, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 23, 2008 Pete, do you or anyone here have the Panny WA lens on your DL4?Thanks, Rich. Rich, No I don't; 24 mm is wide enough for me and, truth be told, I'd prefer a tele adaptor because I miss the reach afforded by the 112 mm(?) on the D-Lux2. Pete. Pete. Pete, Thanks for the imput. If I have sometimes felt that I didn't have the right focal length for the shot, it's usually the need to go shorter. I'd also love the perspective this lens would afford. But I ain't buyin' until I hear actual hands-on experience, and maybe see images from someone who actually uses the Panasonic WA on their Leica. Oh, and btw, London is my favorite city, for lots of reasons, including how outgoing you all have been to me.
