Boxer 53 Posted December 20, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) The M8.2 is a wonderful camera. The attached image was shot with this camera and a Summilux 50mm F.4. Looks very nice in DNG format at full size. The Bee was flying away when I shot this photo. hdrmd Posted December 21, 2008 Share #4 Posted December 21, 2008 Nothing wrong with this work; keep the camera in the hands of the amateur. DR
stuny Posted December 21, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 21, 2008 Max - A lovely image, but I encourage you to honor your images with a bit of post production when appropriate, as in this case. In this case I increased the shadow details a significant amount, the highlights just a touch, and did a bit of sharpening.
Boxer 53 Posted December 21, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted December 21, 2008 Thank you Stuart -- I appreciate the advice as I am very much the amteur. Aside from the Capture One software that came with the camera, I only have Adobe Photoshop elements. I'm still learning my way around the Capture One and have a lot of work to do to become even remotely proficient with that software. I can hack my way through PE but I will attempt to do what you did with the DNG I have of this image. Thanks again. Max

Boxer 53 Posted December 21, 2008 Author Share #8 Posted December 21, 2008 Thanks Marie. In truth, the camera does a better job than I do. Anyone who thinks a Leica Rangefinder is hard to use should view the photo -- I was always the guy who could break a tank with a rubber hammer.
