christoph_d Posted October 14, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2006 Hello Klaus, A very good picture in my view, captured in "digital aesthetic" mood, sharp from front to back. Very nice mood, supported by the colours. The picture itself seems to me a bit oversharpened - look for example at the back of the beast. Kind regards, C. kld Posted October 14, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted October 14, 2006 Christoph, thanks for your friendly comment. I assume downsizeing and high contrast is responsible for the oversharpened look. Here is a 100% crop. IMHO it could even be an touch sharper. I sharpen up to the point at which in an 50% view no increase in detail becomes visible. I visible artefacts are arising sooner, than these are determining the limit of sharpening. I observe some prefer to less or not sharpen their photos, a matter of taste of course, but a waste of a sharp (and expensive) Leica lens in my opinion. -- Klaus
christoph_d Posted October 14, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 14, 2006 Klaus, The 100% crop looks better to me. I imagine this picture must look excellent in a large format print. Rgds, C.

kld Posted October 17, 2006 Author Share #12 Posted October 17, 2006 Thank you all for your friendly comments. The calf was not frowningly, it only looked that way. The weather was, but we were back at the car as the first thunderbolts came down. -- Klaus
