Marquinius Posted December 11, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2008 O man, I really wonder where we're going ... what about a normal seat, a pleasant view, somebody who smiles, a salad that is surprisingly fresh .... You depict a world I'm not sure I want to take part in .... Good job!
stuny Posted December 11, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted December 11, 2008 Marco - I know what you mean, which is part of the reason why I do a lot of cooking, but we also carefully select the restaurants we frequent, whether informal for lunch or brunch, or downright baroque. Marquinius Posted December 11, 2008 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2008 Yesterday we had a quick diner at a Turkish restaurant in Zaandam before attending Ian Seagall (later, pictures, yesss): SUPER food, SUPER attention ... no plastic mumbo jumbo. There is a difference between lifestyle and life. But then again: they will have to find their own way. We're only leasing this world. Marco
Michael Hiles Posted December 12, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 12, 2008 Très New York. Elegant, stylish. Comfortable?
stuny Posted December 12, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted December 12, 2008 Michael - Comfortable? It makes me think of something Barbara translated for me during one of our visits to Paris. It was a late November evening and the cold air was being whipped by the wind on the Left Bank. We saw an exceptionally chic looking young woman coming the other way with her escort. Her long, expensive fur coat was open, and her silk blouse was unbuttoned to her waist. In French she was complaining to her escort about how cold she was. The things we endure for style. I am not stylish. But I live in Montreal and I am warm. "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes"
