15% lens cash back in UK and Ireland?

On the Red Dot Camera website (here) in London, there is a note about a 15% cash-back rebate on new Leica lenses. However, on the UK Leica site I can find no information on this. Only the £650 cash-back offer for the M8.2 is mentioned, which seems to include cameras bought from dealers in the UK and Ireland . I'm interested in knowing if the 15% lens deal extends to Ireland as well. I'll be in Dublin next week, and I can see a deal shaping up. With this and reclaiming the VAT, a new Summicron 28 ASPH is substantially cheaper than in the US, even with the US$ 300 rebate. Does anyone know more about the 15% lens deal?

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers, -Peter

I just bought a bunch of stuff from them yesterday. Yes the owner did talk about the 15% rebate. He said that he received the notice from the main office literally yesterday. But he is trying to find out whether it would apply to foreigners buying in the UK because of something around having a British bank account. Not quite clear.

But I would agree that with the currency fluctuations, it has made it very favorable to buy Leicas in the UK.

I wouldn't hold your breath hoping to buy a cheap Leica lens in Ireland. LOL We are (us Irish) living with the most over inflated price structures in Europe.

Btw the dealer at the top of Grafton St has both a std and chrome version of the 35 Summicron Asph and a 28 Summicron Asph. 2 Black & 1 M8.0 in the window.

That's annoying having invested in a new lens only a couple of weeks ago.

I've been expecting Leica to start heavily discounting the M8 (and the M8.2 at some point next year) but I didn't see the lens cashback deal coming at all.

£650 cash back is on the M8 only, not the M8.2. The 15% cash back on lenses applies to all except the new big 3 plus the 24mm Elmar. Of course.

Sorry my mistake, you're of course correct Mark. The M8 only.
