The light is quite wonderful at the beginning and end of the day. This is just before dawn. R6 21SA Sensia 1sec. Ian
Advertisement Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Hi ijporter, Take a look here Arckaringa Hills, South Australia. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotografr Posted October 11, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2006 The light is quite wonderful at the beginning and end of the day. This is just before dawn. I guess that's true just about anywhere. Sometimes I don't understand this forum. At this point, 44 people have looked at this image and nobody has said a word about it. I really don't get that! The colors are gorgeous and the composition and detail are also excellent. I'd like to see this bigger, however, to get the full effect.
jmr Posted October 11, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 11, 2006 Ian, Brent's right, it is a good photograph. Sometimes it takes one comment to stir others into action

square_one Posted October 11, 2006 Share #5 Posted October 11, 2006 ... and John is right too. And another thing, if you've just praised Ian for an immediately previous image - got a pie in the face in the process - you skip his next image, even if it is drop dead Outback gorgeous. ijporter Posted October 11, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted October 11, 2006 Thanks everyone. When I posted the picture, it was smaller than I'd expected, so I've done it again and hope that this time it'll be a bit larger. Ian
lambroving Posted October 12, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 12, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ian, Just got in from work. Will mail you later when I've had dinner. Thanks for raising the bar on the general level of photography here lately. As Brent said, you need to figure out how to get that software you are using to save at least 800 wide but still under 240K. You make me want to visit these places. THAT is saying something... ijporter Posted October 12, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted October 12, 2006 Hi William, In the Graphic Convertor software I use I can scale it at 960 wide or high and then size it at 240kb, which is what I've been doing of late to fit the forum's parameters. I don't really know why some of the shots then appear larger or smaller, but I wonder if it has to do with the amount of compression different shots are able to bear. I look forward to your advice as to what to see in England. Ian
