mark_goode Posted October 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) During our brief "tour" of Napa Valley, we happened upon Turnbull Vineyards (Turnbull Wine Cellars) Besides producing some marvelous wines, the owner of Turnbull is an avid photography collector. He has one of the finest collections of Ansel Adams, the Westons, and other photographers of such renown. If you visit the Reserve Wine Tasting Room in the next few months, you can see over 30 original Weston black and white prints, all displayed amongst the barrels in the room. And if you're really lucky, not only will you have the chance to examine the Westons' work up close, but you'll be helped by "CJ," Turnbull's senior wine educator and one of the most delightful people we met on our little journey. stuny Posted October 24, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 24, 2008 Mark - Terrific find, terrific compositions; and the contrast and tonal quality seem to be in homage to the Westins.

chilihead Posted October 24, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 24, 2008 Looks like a fabulous place to visit -by the way, the lady who is opening the bottle of wine looks like she is supremely and absolutely hammered - getting blotto is a winery job hazard no doubt - hope she didn't have to ride her Harley home! CJ wasn't hammered but she did/does know her product ;-) She was lucid, witty, sharp as a tack, and engaged in delightful repartee. If you should happen by Turnbull, give her Pam and my regards . . .
