Am I missing somethin here? LouisB Quite possibly the shot because you are pointing the camera at the ground trying to get a proper meter reading. Yeah and how is pushing in the shutter release and fooling with the wheel any different and or less time consuming. I actually like the meter in the M8. It is only times where there is a strong back light or very bright and darker areas of the scene and I want to either limit the influence of the back light or need to bright or darker areas of the scene to be correctly exposed that I use the point the camera at some other place to get a different meter reading. Or I simply go manual shutter speed. But since my normal mode these days is to use A-ISO I'm finding using manual shutter speeds doesn't always give me what I want, IE the ISO can raise or lower trying to keep the main area of the scene what the camera/meter thinks is in proper exposure.
