koo104 Posted August 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a greyish spot in the sky of my pictures. My lens is kept really clean but I am not able to access the image sensor. Have others been having this problem with this model? I understand there have been issues with the Digilux & M8. Advertisement Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Hi koo104, Take a look here C-Lux1 Sensor is dirty. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted August 23, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2008 I'm guessing it will be a speck of dust that has some how worked its way in probably from the zooming lens. Just PS it out, not worth having the camera taken apart for IMO.
koo104 Posted August 23, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted August 23, 2008 I'm guessing it will be a speck of dust that has some how worked its way in probably from the zooming lens. Just PS it out, not worth having the camera taken apart for IMO. I am concerned about taking the camera apart to clean since everything operating perfectly. Actually, my friend just turned me on to the Actions tool in PS. Since it is occurs in the same place on overcast skies scenes, I might be about set up a string on corrections set into a Action task. Tenor1 Posted August 24, 2008 Share #4 Posted August 24, 2008 My 3-month-old C-Lux2 has the same issue. I've notice a spot on foggy-type of sky scenes. It seems odd that a new camera has the same issue as yours. Regards, Carlos Marques
farnz Posted August 24, 2008 Share #5 Posted August 24, 2008 If you're using LightRoom you can copy adjustments from one shot to another. Use the spot removal tool to remove the spot in shot 1, Ctrl+Shift+C, open the second shot, Ctrl+Shift+V. If the dust spot appears in the same place in all your shots (but obviously the position will differ in landscape and portrait) then it is straightforward to set up a Preset in LR to remove the spot, which you can apply during import and apply to all the files. Or you can apply the preset later to a single file or a selection of files. HTH Pete.
koo104 Posted August 24, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted August 24, 2008 Thanks for your pointers. I also looked into what it would cost to clean. $159.00 us. I will wait until some other repair is also needed I will see how using lightroom works for correcting the problem.
