andit Posted August 19, 2008 Share #5 Posted August 19, 2008 Hi Max, I thought this type of thing only happens in Africa... Nice capture, that Nocti is extremely sharp. Thanks for sharing. Andreas
Max Alfy Posted August 19, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted August 19, 2008 Thank you for looking Andreas. I must say that the sharpness of that 30 years old Nocti is gratifying. I bought it second- (or third?) hand a few years ago for my M6, and it now resides 75% of the time on the M8, despite the crop factor and my other lenses which are 24, 35 & 90 mm, all Asph. Surely the best purchase I ever made. To illustrate its sharpness: this is another snap of the same scene, sharpening disabled in C1, and a 100% crop. Aperture was f 4. andit Posted August 21, 2008 Share #7 Posted August 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Max, I wish I could find one of these lenses lying around somewhere. It just goes to show that even 30 years ago, without all these computer calculation models, and manufacturing methods, Leica knew what they were doing. Brilliant.
