berndr Posted July 25, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted July 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Â isn't there anybody out there who can construct an adaptionkit for a FF dSLR (C or better N) for R lenses? Â I don't mean the adapter solutions on the marked. I mean a kit that replaces the whole original bajonet-ring. When the adaption is done in that way, R lenses might be adaptable to N-Bodies. Maybe a construction can be found that allows timeautomated usage of the R-lenses and the ROM information migth be usable too. I would give about 1500 euros for a kit with full functionality. Â What do you think? Â I am totally angry about the R politics from Leica and such a solution would be the right answer. Â Kind regards, Bernd. Look at the medium format cameras. The companies that used to provide the digital backs only are buying out traditional camera makers or start their own camera business. Voigtländer could build R cameras like they make M cameras. Zeiss could do so as well. The only problem is that there appears to be no (large enought) market and not enough nostalgia around the R system to copy the lens mount. If Leica can not deliver why should someone else supply a camera to Leica lovers. You will buy a real Nikon or Canon anyways if Leica is not showing a professional and a semi-professional R soon. Would be great if Leica did the same as Zeiss with its lenses but perhaps the 'R politics' will be more clever than expected and allow R users to use normally their lenses with the forthcoming body. According to the Leica's CEO: 'You can be assured that to us it´s very clear what's going to happen with regard to the topic SLR. We´re developing a solution which we will present to the public.... This fall in Cologne you will be able to get a clue'... the new R 'shall more than satisfy the needs of our customers'.
