Advertisement Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Hi robert_parker, Take a look here Che. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

stuny Posted September 23, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2006 Robert - Even though Che didn't die all that long ago the toning seems most appropriate. Also, if this were cropped one would be certain that Che was caught shopping for a wedding gown in an English speaking country .
earleygallery Posted September 23, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 23, 2006 Robert, good catch. One day students everywhere will be wearing T shirts with this image on them! Someone mentioned the Che image at the pub the other night. We joked that most kids probably think its some legendary rock star! I told my friends how it had been taken on a Leica and its apparently the most reproduced photographic image (in all its various forms). The photographer was a Cuban, Alberto Diaz Gutierrez. Guest smep Posted September 23, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 23, 2006 Robert, do you think this is a good picture? • I don´t like the aspect ratio. It´s nearly a square, but not really 1:1 • The man direct behind Che is disturbing. 1 or 2 seconds later he would have been gone • Terrible white face of the lady on the left • No background composition Regards
uulrich Posted September 23, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 23, 2006 Hi Robert; Interesting visual experience I had... My laptop display is small; if I scroll down I cannot make out where and when this shot was taken in a first instance. Only later I can see it's taken in front of a pub; As far as your composition is concerend:- I'm afraid it doesn't work for me. There's one pedestriant behing the statue, the girlies rather distrurb, an iron or some sort of a wooden support is alligned w/ Che's head. Thanks Robert. How's Sammy? robert_parker Posted September 25, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted September 25, 2006 Thank you everyone for your constructive comments - this was my first real attempt at street photography so in a sense I was pleased that I got the shot at all, as the crowds parted for a split second in that part of Grafton Street. I must admit that I hadn't noticed the person passing behind Che - the original intention was a much tighter crop on the upper body but I didn't think that I had enough sharpness to hold it together when combined with the sepia effect in lightroom. I'll look forward to another attempt. Uwe - Sammy's been on a new shoot (radishes) so I should be able to post some more once he cools down...
