ijporter Posted September 20, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) This oasis is in the far north of South Australia, in the desert just south of the Northern Territory border. We were travelling up the abandoned 'Ghan' railway line which, due to the now-absent sleepers and track, has rather severe corrugations! The waterhole is a magnet for birdlife and other wildlife seeking moisture in the arid surrounds. R6, 21mm 1s @ f11; Fuji Sensia.

stuny Posted September 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2006 Ian - You have a superb eye for color and color composition (3rd one today, and maybe there are more on the site for me tosee!). Sad to say I've never been that far north in SA, or that far south in NT.
JHAG Posted September 20, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 20, 2006 Contrast between the water mirror and the satin sky (mostly cold tones) and the helicoïdal wrinkled tree (mostly warm tones) is enchanting.

ijporter Posted September 20, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted September 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks everyone. I love the outback and the 'alpenglow' just after / before sunset / sunrise is a magical time for outback photograph - mind you, there are few landscapes that are as magnificent when the sun in low in the sky. And the silence! Ian
