Dinner in my "kitchen". Our regular spot. Pesce Pasta has grown from it's original location on Bleeker Street to now 4 locations. Same exact menu & authentic home style Italian Fish & Pasta. Desert is across the street at Matt Umanov's.

I strolled in there one bitter winter 12-13 years ago after a hair-rasing flight from Miami. I walked in around 3:00PM. No other customers. I asked if they would serve some "late lunch". The owner & the 2 brothers sat down at the table, asked what I wanted, made some suggestions and saved my life. They are by far, the most authentic people & true home style Italian seafood & pasta in the City.

This little trattoria on Bleeker features the 2 brothers & "cousin" from northern Italy. Opera 24/7. Don't be suprised by a sing along to various arias and the oldest longstanding group of local Italian merchants & residents in the Village. It is known as Italy on Bleeker, with the group at Roccos, Ottomanelli's, Faicco's Sausage, John's Pizza & the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Pompeii. Brooklyn, Fagettaboutit!

Ben -

Superb light, color, detail, and composition.

I've never noticed their place -- My attention is always on Matt Umanov's on that part of the street. I know the price difference must be large, but how would you characterize the quality of the food vs. Esca (northern Italian seafood) on 43rd & 9th (and one of the very few good restaurants in the theater district)?

Ben,

I bet that the food here tastes and looks good as is (not taste) this image does.

Top to bottom, left to right....pleasing all round.

Thanks, Ivan.

BTW, the "cousin" is staring loveling at the most prized item, which is not on the menu, but is parsed out to long standing customers, the best biscotti (my wife's family calls is biscoteel) I have ever had, either in Italy or anywhere in NYC.
