It was nice to see everyone again and The Flask certainly proved an attractive venue !

It was nice to meet our new member, George, as well and I hope he'll be in a position to post shortly !!

You'll have to be sure to remind me not to walk back via Oxford Streen next time, as I added the cost of a jacket in the sales to my budget for the trip !! :o

Interestingly, using a Mini courtesy car for the trip, time taken for a steady cruise was 2 hours 8 minutes and trip cost (not including jacket) was a little less than £30 in petrol, which I guess is why we still use cars in Somerset and not public transport (train £169 return).

I'll look forward to posting the shots I took, in the next few days !!

Likewise, it was very pleasant to see familiar faces again and very nice to meet you, George. (We're looking forward to your first post. :) )

Thanks everone for holding on for me at Belsize Park. For the uninitiated, one of the cretins that we fondly but misguidedly call adolescents thought it'd be a mighty fine gesture in front of his equally cretinous mates to pull the emergency cord at Kings Cross. (I found this out from a guard on the way back.) The clever dick spent the afternoon at one of Her Majesty's fine constabularies being glowered at and made to feel very small and stupid by a bunch of burly coppers instead of enjoying himself with his cretinous mates. :)

It's, ahem, a shame that SO much rain put a stop to SO much of our photographic intentions  but at least we managed to thoroughly investigate the insides of The Flask and an excellent venue it is too. Perhaps we should arrange a second date to carry on to the bits from John's list that the ... um ... weather prevented us from seeing and check that The Flask is maintaining its high standards ...

It was amusing that a number of faintly bemused people on the street noticed the abundance of Leica gear but it was particularly humorous when a bloke on a step-through who was doing The Knowledge stopped near to where Louis and George we're intensely photographing a cat cushion(?) in the window of a house and asked if it was a notable place that he should commit to memory for his future customers. I'll upload some D2 shots onto the thread in Other before long.

All in all another very enjoyable day so thanks to all.

Pete.

LOL I missed that! I was approached by the guy Robert took the photo of (looking forward to seeing that one) when we were by the old School who asked if we were press and what had happened.

Its part of the fun of these walkabouts, the reaction of people to a bunch of photographers. At least they were all politely interested rather than suspicious!! And they young guy in the pub surprised me, offering to show us his camera which turned out to be the lovely Agfa folder in the pictures above. Film isn't dead (Brian!! :D )
