stunsworth Posted September 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) So, I was in Brantome in the middle of France and wanted to get to Limoge. Rather than take the main road I decided to drive across country using the D roads and of course got hopelessly lost. However one plus of that was that I stumbled on this castle in a village called Mont Brun if I remember correctly. Perhaps somewhere to try and find again :-) Canon 5D, 35mm Elmarit

andybarton Posted September 18, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 18, 2006 Very nice addition to the "castle" theme. Maybe we should demand a seperate forum section
gylee Posted September 18, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 18, 2006 Yes indeed, this is a very fine shot, bursting with your usual detail. You get great results from the 5D, not all of which I am sure are related to just the Leica glass. Would you mind sharing your usual workflow? G. elansprint72 Posted September 18, 2006 Share #8 Posted September 18, 2006 Steve, That is one of the joys of France, isn't it- always something to discover. Never heard of this place but from the style of the building I would say that it is from the time when England occupied huge tracts of "France" either by marriage or by violence. Must look it up when I get back from another week on the road. Cheers, Pete.
stunsworth Posted September 18, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted September 18, 2006 Thanks everyone, there are times when getting lost isn't too bad. I drove past this, turned the car around and took a few frames. Pete, I'm sure you're right - there were tourist signs for the route 'Richard Coeur de Lion', so there are probably more similar sites in the area. The town may be called Mont Bron - I seem to remember that there was a town called Mont Bron on the map in the area that I thought I was.
