Can use some help - the Image Unique ID I have is 00000000000000000000000000002E89.

How do I convert this in number of actuations?

Thanks

Do you have a calculator program on your computer?

Does it do scientific mode?

set it to HEX type in the last part of that IUID 2e89, tick DEC and you have your answer.

Hello

I'm new to this forum and to this thread, but have had fun with my M9 for about a year. I have used a Voigtlander range finder since I was 10 yrs old, now 53 yrs

A quick way to get the shutter count from the EXIF data is:-

Take a shot and copy it from your SD card to your pictures folder on your hard drive

Open up Photoshop elements 8.0, and load the shot into edit mode

Click on File > File Info > Raw Data (the tab way over to the right hand side - easily missed)

Scroll down the page until you see something like this

<exif:ImageUniqueID>00000000000000000000000000000C04</exif:ImageUniqueID>

Go to HEXADECIMAL to BINARY conversion, HEX to Decimal converter, Hexdecimal convertor and enter C04 into the hex box, press enter and the decimal answer is returned as 3076

Hope this helps

Regards

PS. Soon to be a "M" owner if any one wants my M9 for £3999.99 - shutter count as above, black body only in good condition - only a year old - may come with hand grip and 1.4 x view finder magnifier if needed and they don't fit the M. UK buyers only, payment by PayPal, to pick up in person - West Midlands

As I read in a different post it´s easy as 1234.

In shooting mode simply hit the right arrow of the camera 4 times, then the left arrow 3 times, then the right arrow 1 more time and after that the info button. The Body debug info screen shows you (arrow down) the number of actuations. No need for HEX or software tricks.
