Steve Busby Posted May 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys, This is a double first for me today, my first posting on this forum, and my first day with my new M8. I just wanted to say a big thank-you to Ivor Cooper and his wife, at Red Dot Cameras in London, for the helpful and above all friendly service they both gave me!!! The service was a breath of fresh air, in comparison to other shops that I have been in. As I understand it they have not been open very long, I have not been a Leica user for that long (about 10 months, D - Lux 3 and M6 TTL) but I have found a shop that it's a joy to spend money in!! and I would like to wish them both every success. Now I'm off to use this wonderful camera. Steve

andybarton Posted May 23, 2008 Share #3 Posted May 23, 2008 I bought my Summilux from Ivan and as far as spending eight hundred quid can be, it was a very pleasurable experience.

marknorton Posted May 25, 2008 Share #9 Posted May 25, 2008 Interesting that they are showing the 24mm Elmarit as more expensive than the 21mm, normally the other way around.
Red Dot Cameras Posted May 27, 2008 Share #10 Posted May 27, 2008 Hi, With regards to the 24mm and the 21mm prices, I am sure many of you are aware there has been a price increase, currently the 24mm on my website is priced at £2149.00 this is my new discounted price, the 21mm is priced at £2099.00 this is pre-price increase but will be going up to £2299.00 so the 21mm will be dearer than to 24mm. If you think thats bizarre, take a look at the Leica Billingham Bag in the M accessories, the black one is £190.00 while the khaki is £138.00, this is also due to the price increase. Ivor. jaapv Posted May 27, 2008 Share #11 Posted May 27, 2008 It is nice to see a dealer that does not mark up stock prices when the factory price inceases. Slightly hazardrous, as a price drop must be followed.
dhsimmonds Posted May 27, 2008 Share #12 Posted May 27, 2008 Hi Jerry Many thanks for the link. A nice site btw Ivor! When I first saw the magazine ad. showing a web address, I looked it up and only saw the "red dot web site is in preparation and coming soon" message so I located it in my web favouites, but each time I tried to open it I got the same message, thus my previous post! Old one now deleted and replaced by the new, so all is now well!
