Photokina 2008 - What do you think?

I work at a photo supply store in the US and we are Leica dealers. A short time ago, we received a letter from Herr Kauffman concerning Leica's "commitment to the future" and Photokina 2008. It stated in the letter that Leica Camera AG is very excited about the product portfolio they will show at this year's Photokina, and they also stated that they have reserved twice the amount of space for their booth this year as compared to 2006. They encouraged us to come to Germany for the show (oddly enough our boss said no to taking our entire staff), and also suggested us to encourage our Leica customers to attend. So I think we might see either a digital equivalent to the Leica CL or some kind of entry-level M body, and/or a higher end point-and-shoot similar to a digital equivalent to the Leica CM (hopefully with at least a 4/3 or APS-C sized sensor, and maybe - just maybe - a fixed equivalent of a 40mm 2.4 lens). What does everyone else think? Has anyone talked to their local rep? Ours is being tight-lipped but says a lot of new things are coming......

Nothing will happen ... Leica only takes a little corner on the first floor, all big players are on the second floor.

You mean Leica is between all that lowgrade stuff from Hasselblad, Mamiya, Zeiss and Metz:eek: What a comedown ;)

I am shooting a wedding in Italy on September 20th... what do you think?

I think that some compatriot of mine shows a good taste in choosing the photog for his wedding ... :) If isn't a secret, just for curios, WHERE are you going for the wedding ? Is it a special location ? In Italy there are many wonderful historical places very chased for wedding ceremonies...

Luigi - Thanks for your comments. I don't have all the details yet but I believe the wedding will take place in a private villa in either Tuscany or Florence (can't remember exactly where now)... I love Italia and I'm looking forward to start shooting there more often.

Cheers,

its all rumours I tell you

i'll only go once someone goes there beforehand and sends me back exact floorplans with measurements and dimensions thereof with a minimum of 3 decimal places, ipso facto, specifiying by degrees, length, width and height therein in that specific order.
