Dirk Van der Herten Posted April 16, 2008 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2008 A very nice shot. It would work also very well in B/W.
Michael-IIIf Posted April 16, 2008 Share #5 Posted April 16, 2008 Damn, the desirability of these M8s is really getting to me.
Neil Macmillan Posted April 16, 2008 Share #6 Posted April 16, 2008 This is remarkable for this kind of shot at 1250 (Must be the Noise Ninja. Note to self: look into that). Of course you could probably have got away with 640 and shot at 1/60. Good work!
PhotoArchival Posted April 16, 2008 Share #7 Posted April 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you hadn't told me, I would not have guessed it was iso1250! I like the warm colors too, and the selective focus. Very nice moment captured. Amado
biglouis Posted April 16, 2008 Author Share #8 Posted April 16, 2008 This is remarkable for this kind of shot at 1250 (Must be the Noise Ninja. Note to self: look into that).Of course you could probably have got away with 640 and shot at 1/60. Good work! Neil Before the last firmware update I would have agreed with you. In fact, I should not have needed to use noise ninja (which is an excellent product, btw) as since the firmware update 1250 has been usable if you get the exposure right. I've found the M8 to be extremely intolerant to underexposure but when you get it bang on then the results are excellent all the way up to 1250. Much as I tried to pose the picture there was a time limit here and I rushed it, hence the unecessary use of 1250 and the fact that even then I underexposed the shot. Thanks to all the other posters, as well, just felt I needed to defend the M8's abilities at high iso's as it is often negatively commented upon but I have found it usable with care.
