I asked if they could supply a new red dot marker, as one had fallen of a lens - Despite three mails no reply - not a peep. Until a week later the dot showed up in a little envelope in the mail, just like that. No cost :):):)

That's great! In the midst of everything going on - planning & day-to-day work & repairs - your query, prolly among jillions, got shunted about through the smallish busy staff until it reached the right person, who shunted it back until it reached the person who filled the bill.

But an email reply would be nice, too.

Similar thing happened to me, I needed a set screw for the mount of my 1959 Summilux 50 (1st version) so I emailed them a picture and asked if it was available. I received a reply a few days later asking for my shipping address. And a short week later an envelope four perfect screws arrives at no charge. :) It helps to remember this when they used 4 1/2 months to service and code my 90 Elmarit-M....

I wouldnt, Bill. I'd just send a half a dozen. One dot in the post....

I got a response to an email. It took a long time, but I got it. But it was a request for advice.

If it was a dot I'd rather the thing turned up. Action rather than words.

Good idea though Carl, the last time I needed a replacement screw it cost me about fifty, sixty something bucks going through the distributer.
