Summarit 75mm or Summarit 90mm

[...] havin only the choice of 75 and 90 i'd go for the 90. the 75 doesnt even show a different frame to the 50 on the M8. that would be hard to keep in mind in day-to-day use and might result in misframing once in a while.

 

The 75 does show a different frame to the 50 actually. 75 and 90 are easier to misframe IMO.

my M8 shows the 50 frame together with the 75 frame. and that should be this way on all M-cameras.

 

of course the 75 frame ist different to the 50 frame. but they are shown both on 50 AND 75-lenses. this shows that even Leica themselves did think of the 75 focal length as an alternative to the 50 and not as a real difference.

This simply shows that Leica needed 75mm framelines for its Summilux 75 if you ask me. The M4-2 had only 35/135, 50 and 90 framelines then so when Leica added 28 and 75 for the M4-P, the two new pairs were 28/90 and 50/75. I would have preferred 28/75 and 50/90 personally but this is another story.
