Advertisement Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hi nomad, Take a look here WalesShed. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elansprint72 Posted September 11, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2006 Sir, You may consider that to be a mere shed but to thousands of Welshmen that is a perfect good place to "entertain" their sheep. Allegedly. Pete.
stuny Posted September 11, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2006 David - Absolutely lovely with its gentle colors, nice detail, selective focus and perfect composition. Pete - Your comment reminds me of one by Tom Leher talking about an acquaintence who studied animal husbandry until he was caught at it.
nomad Posted September 12, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted September 12, 2006 Thanks Stuart and Pete. I like the humour and having worked with several Welshman over the years I've heard a few. I was a bit disappointed with the light as I arrived late and missed the evening 'glow'. David
uulrich Posted September 12, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 12, 2006 OT: Pete, Sutart and David; Your remarks are wonderful. I think you guys know how to poke some fun into faces.
wda Posted September 12, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 12, 2006 David, I bet that shed could tell a story! I like the colour contrast. David

jmr Posted September 14, 2006 Share #8 Posted September 14, 2006 David, strong colours and subtle textures - it works for me.

Pete. Hi Pete; The lamb I posted was w/ my new used R4s. The light seals are gone. :-(
lambroving Posted September 14, 2006 Share #10 Posted September 14, 2006 David, Like just about everything in this shot except the "straw" color palette. What film is this? Was it the hour? A very long exposure? Looks like Agfa Ultracolor...
nomad Posted September 15, 2006 Author Share #11 Posted September 15, 2006 Hi William, My original post had too much tweaking in photoshop in my haste to post the shot. Used selective color in PS and played with yellow and green and black channels. Film was Fuji Reala. Time was sundown. (the sun was practically gone) The neg shows a few more features in the sky which got blown out in the print - I lack a decent neg scanner. Really can't remember the exposure - I just used an incident reading. Attached is an adjusted version which perhaps reflects the scene more realistically. Thanks to all for your kind comments. lambroving Posted September 15, 2006 Share #12 Posted September 15, 2006 Yes, that looks a bit more "real" but maybe overexposed for the scene. Possibly you ought to have trusted the MP meter a bit more and bracketed the shot? Darker with less blown might have been even more realistic... Phranque Posted September 15, 2006 Share #13 Posted September 15, 2006 Hello David, This looks suspiciously like what I call 'my shed'. It's no such thing, of course, but I photograph it quite a lot. I live about 20 miles from it. The UK National Grid Ref is SH 912 555. Frank
nomad Posted September 15, 2006 Author Share #14 Posted September 15, 2006 Frank, Definitely your shed and mine are the same. I wish I was fortunate enough to live in such a beautiful area. Hope you didn't mind my few shots. It was just a natural as we passed it by a few days earlier. Post some more. David William - here's a better scan off the neg - colours are better but my scanner is not really up to the job. David
elansprint72 Posted September 15, 2006 Share #15 Posted September 15, 2006 Hey, we drove over the A543 last Saturday! Next time I'll look for the shed! Pete.
Phranque Posted September 15, 2006 Share #16 Posted September 15, 2006 David: I'm really please that you spotted the shelter and found it to be worth photohgraphing. I'll bet that if it could speak it would be able to tell some tales. I go back there about once a year - well in fact you can't help but go there if you are heading down to Snowdonia etc. I think I must have had a passion for rusty stuff because I took this one in Blaenau Ffestiniog at the same time: Pete: It's worth a visit. If you are careful you can tuck your vehicle in close to the farm gate which forms the entrance to the area. I usually climb over the gate and wander around for a while. It's so peaceful there. Watch out when you drive away, as you'll know there's some fast traffic sometimes. Frank
elansprint72 Posted September 15, 2006 Share #17 Posted September 15, 2006 Frank, I am that fast traffic! Pete.
nomad Posted September 15, 2006 Author Share #18 Posted September 15, 2006 I'd second Frank's warning re the traffic. It's on a two way country road and cars just suddenly appear out of the blue. David
