Donald Posted April 6, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted April 6, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can we expect to see a Leica E-Lux4, being the Leica sibbling of the Lumix FX500, as this camera boosts a 25 mm lens ?
Advertisement Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Hi Donald, Take a look here E-Lux4 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andit Posted April 7, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted April 7, 2008 Hi Donald, Â Had a quick look at the FX-500 at Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ Â I don't think we'll see this in the Leica line up. If it should appear it would probably be a C-Lux 3. The FX-500 falls into the c-lux line in terms of design and features. Since Leica only recently released the c-lux 2, I think it'll probably be another year or so before we see an upgrade. The FX-500 certainly looks interesting though. macgarvin Posted April 7, 2008 Share #3  Posted April 7, 2008 Quick take From a D-LUX 3 perspective  Good -  "A new image-processing LSI, Venus Engine IV, features more advanced signal processing technology for rendering even higher-quality images.  Notably, parallel noise reduction in both luminance signal and chromatic signal processing systems, a technology established by the preceding Venus Engine III, gains a more sophisticated process. First, the luminance noise is two-dimensionally separated into high-frequency and low-frequency noises and only the low-frequency noise, which tends to be conspicuous, is eliminated without affecting the high-frequency noise that greatly influences resolution. Second, the information of the change point between colours is minutely stored for precise determination of edges, thus colour bleeding is dramatically suppressed. This not only produces a clearer image in high ISO sensitivity recording, but also faithfully reproduces details in low-lit areas of pictures taken at low ISO sensitivity.    Bad  File formats • JPEG (Exif 2.21) i.e. no RAW • QuickTime (Motion JPEG)   +/- Not wide format - which I like a lot - or to put it another way, 'do it yourself' wide format down to ? 8MP? when cropped from D-LUX 3's 10MP
earleygallery Posted April 7, 2008 Share #4 Â Posted April 7, 2008 E lux? C lux maybe. Â The C Lux 2 is the same as the Panasonic FX30 which is outdated now by several later Panasonic models so I guess we will see a new C lux pretty soon, probably at Photokina?
