Photoskeptic Posted April 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I went to Steven Gandy's site to see about a 35mm viewfinder but he doesn't list one. Anyone know where I could get one? I plan on using it on my M3. Thanks for all replies.

echorec Posted April 5, 2008 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2008 Try to find an original Leitz SBLOO, the best external viewfinder ever made IMHO.
Photoskeptic Posted April 5, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted April 5, 2008 Thanks, Gunnar. And where in the world would I find one?
cosmonaut Posted April 5, 2008 Share #4 Posted April 5, 2008 I bought a Heliar finder but am not thrilled with it. It seems off.
luigi bertolotti Posted April 5, 2008 Share #5 Posted April 5, 2008 As Gunnar said, the old SBLOO is definitely the best: a little bulky, but a fantastic seeing through... not difficult to find one... here are two that are currently available at Willkommen im LeicaShop - Startseite de
Philippe D. Posted April 5, 2008 Share #6 Posted April 5, 2008 And where in the world would I find one? Those viewfinder SBLOO are pretty good, but pretty expensive too. Near you, in LA, Kevin Lee Kevin's Cameras :: Finder have quite a few. The best ones are very, very expensive, especially the boxes. In Europe, the best place could be Leicashop in Vienna/Austria https://www.leicashop.com but not quite cheap either.

cbretteville Posted April 5, 2008 Share #9 Posted April 5, 2008 The Leica one is great, jut got one for my M3. I also have a VC metal 28mm finder that I use. Cameraquest does sell 35mm metal finders for $145 and the combo 28/35 mini finder for $169. A while back I emailed Stephen Gandy asking which was better for people wearing glasses and he wrote me back the metal one gives better eye relief. Photoskeptic Posted April 5, 2008 Author Share #10 Posted April 5, 2008 Thanks, Carl. I've ordered one from Steven. Not sure why I couldn't find it on his site, though! Looking forward to shooting some Velvia with my 35 Cron ASPH.
cbretteville Posted April 5, 2008 Share #11 Posted April 5, 2008 You're welcome. Don't feel bad about not finding stuff on cameraquest.com. The site has its own little 'challenges'. - Carl
