Lucklik Posted September 11, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2006 I like the kid on the picture. But i would prever you had used f5.6 or f4 to get less DOF. Great work Luc
Sandokan Posted September 11, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2006 I like the image - but it is a bit dark, which does not work so well with such a cheerful scene.

gverdon Posted September 11, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 11, 2006 Thanks for the comments. Luc > But i would prever you had used f5.6 or f4 to get less DOF. I understand your point, but in this case, I wanted to catch the restaurant's name: it's a well known place amid the little political national world and my point was the next popular vote (24th September) about new restrictives rules in both Asylum and Foreigners laws... (Besides, the difference wouldn't have been really important, in term of DOF, with the D2 at this distance...) Ravindar > but it is a bit dark, which does not work so well with such a cheerful scene. Same argument as above ;-) Cheers, Gérald
Sandokan Posted September 11, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 11, 2006 Ah ha! Are the Swiss are following the toughening up of the EU neighbours? I am afraid I missed that discussion on the vote, but as it is all in German here and my grasp is not enough to understand the local politics - I tend to listen to the BBC. I have a very simple theory to the whole immigration problem (having been one myself). If people can earn enough at home to provide for a safe and secure environment for themselves and their families, then they will not risk life and limb to migrate to Europe. They live in an agricultural society (most of Africa and East Europe) and if they received a fair income for thier produce by selling it to the west, instead of the west paying a fortune to their in-country farmers to produce the same food but at 100x the price, we would all be better off!
