And if you're not lucky enough to be permitted to photograph the terra cotta soldiers in Xian, as Richard was, you can even find a few of them here in one of the many museums within the walls. You might want to read Barbara's trip notes about China on our site to get a feel for what it was like 10 years ago when tourism was already hopping under Deng.
