stunsworth Posted March 8, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2008 A sunny day in Pere Lachaise, a wonderful place to take photographs. I suppose the monument in the first image is something of a pun on a photographic forum. Thanks for sharing.
Peyton Hoge Posted March 8, 2008 Share #4 Posted March 8, 2008 This is where Jim Morrison is buried.
stunsworth Posted March 8, 2008 Share #5 Posted March 8, 2008 Indeed it is, and you can tell when you are close to his grave because there's a very low level police presence - also by the graffiti written on nearby monuments. It's a great place to photograph in Paris, there are a lot of very impressive tombs, and a lot of famous people buried there.
Martin T-M Posted March 8, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted March 8, 2008 Steve, there was no pun, sorry. I was looking for Jim Morrison's grave but did'nt find it.

stunsworth Posted March 9, 2008 Share #8 Posted March 9, 2008 Steve, there was no pun, sorry. I was looking for Jim Morrison's grave but did'nt find it. Martin, no problem, the 'pun' was referring to the monument to 'Les Jeunes Aveugles' (the young blind people) in a photographic forum. Morrison's grave is quite small and difficult to locate in such a large cemetery.

PJRiley Posted March 9, 2008 Share #10 Posted March 9, 2008 Martin, very nice shots. I love to haunt cemeteries ; especially to find old, historic tombstones. We don't have many with large, artistic monuments in my area. Well done. Mary
