Advertisement Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Hi Ivar B, Take a look here Leica DMR. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ihw Posted March 7, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 7, 2008 Around £2500 - £2750 (not including camera body) Ian
garyp Posted March 7, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 7, 2008 That's close to what they were when new, correct?
ptomsu Posted March 7, 2008 Share #4 Posted March 7, 2008 In Austria they sell for around €3200.- used and mint. And I sold mine for this amount.
andybarton Posted March 7, 2008 Share #5 Posted March 7, 2008 They were £3200 including VAT, new in UK. I bought mine, new, for that, less the VAT as a discount, as the shop was dumping all its Leica stock.
stunsworth Posted March 7, 2008 Share #6 Posted March 7, 2008 I think Ffordes had one recently for £2300. That sold very quickly. I'm hoping that the R10 is a success, that will mean I'll be able to pick up a DMR cheaply <grin>.

kajuku Posted March 7, 2008 Share #8 Posted March 7, 2008 I have a mint R9/DMR setup for which I am asking US$5300 in the B&S forum and I have had no serious offers. Based on the prices cited here, this is tantamount to including the R9 for $600 (or less). Maybe the market is different here in the US. Curious to know what you think. ~ Jonathan __________________________ Jonathan Reiss Photography Charleston, SC jonathanreissphotography.com
andybarton Posted March 8, 2008 Share #9 Posted March 8, 2008 $5300 is currently £2650 An R9 on its own might go for £700 here, so that's £1950 ($4000) for the DMR. This isn't outside the boundaries of a good deal. At least for UK buyers. Euro-zone people may feel different. I'd sell them as two separate lots, not together. No one is going to come into the R8/R9/DMR world as a virgin these days. You need to sell the DMR to existing R8/R9 owners, and let the R9 body hold its own as a film/digital body. jaapv Posted March 8, 2008 Share #10 Posted March 8, 2008 Around £2500 - £2750 (not including camera body)Ian I think that is pitching it too high. I recently bought one for considerably less, and both the seller and I thought it a fair price. But in the Euro-zone.
andybarton Posted March 8, 2008 Share #11 Posted March 8, 2008 I most certainly wouldn't pay more than two grand (sterling) for a DMR. I might not get one at that price, but I'd hold out 'til I did.
jaapv Posted March 8, 2008 Share #12 Posted March 8, 2008 I agree. I would hold out for under 2750 Euro.
jaapv Posted March 8, 2008 Share #13 Posted March 8, 2008 No one is going to come into the R8/R9/DMR world as a virgin these days. I did:o. I sold all my R gear about five years ago and I am reentering..
andybarton Posted March 8, 2008 Share #14 Posted March 8, 2008 You fool But, once you've lost your virginity, you don't get it back...
jaapv Posted March 8, 2008 Share #15 Posted March 8, 2008 Well, I got more for my lenses then than I am paying now, so it is not too bad.
stuny Posted March 8, 2008 Share #16 Posted March 8, 2008 In the US the DMR was released at about $5500, and no long afterwards the price went up to about $6500.
EH21 Posted March 8, 2008 Share #17 Posted March 8, 2008 Here's one that went for 3920 Euros recently on ebay. Leica Digital-Modul-R für R8 und R9 - eBay (item 290208813977 end time Feb-29-08 06:31:37 PST) I've seen the price jump all over the place on these. I've been watching the auctions to either buy a R8 or R9 to replace my dead R8 ( shutter winder mechanism went down and its been at Leica NJ for too long) or sell my DMR and some of my lenses. Can't decide which to do. Great camera system though.

roguewave Posted March 9, 2008 Share #19 Posted March 9, 2008 I have gotten offers (unsolicited) for above 6K US. No chance I'm gonna sell the best digital product since the D2.
rsolomon Posted March 9, 2008 Share #20 Posted March 9, 2008 I’m quite surprised and don’t find the going price for a used DMR to be 6k……The 6k price seems more like the argument that “my school district is the best in the state” I follow this market and i am not aware of any used DMR’s selling in the US or NY area for 6k. Yes i see them advertised for 6k, and i know a lot of people think they are worth 6k, BUT i don't see people buying a used 3 year old DMR for 6k (not a demo, not new old stock). Yes in other parts of the world as exchange rates move it may translate to higher numbers then we see in the US (i.e Germany). In The US $4500 is about the most i have seen and I watch this market pretty close. If someone offers you 6k for a 3 year old DMR; I recommend you take it and just buy another for $4200 and put the $1800 towards the R10 Ben did't you purchase yours within the last 6 months? Did you pay closer to 6k or 4k ? Rich
