(Just had an email as follows, if you are thinking of bringing your own furry friend) Dear Mr Barton, Thank you for your email. Dogs are allowed into the gardens/grounds on May 5th as long as they are kept on the lead. Kind regards Rupert Richards Just need to decide which classic wheel to use now... Falstaff Posted April 24, 2008 Share #23 Posted April 24, 2008 Are we actually meeting or hoping to bump into each other by Brownian motion – I guess it depends on the size of the place. Will we adjourn somewhere suitable for lunch? Questions, questions… Falstaff

elansprint72 Posted April 24, 2008 Share #26 Posted April 24, 2008 It is not a very large place, it would be difficult not to bump into each other. There is a cafe on the site but it tends to get overwhelmed by the numbers of visitors. The Harrington Arms is within five minutes walk and whilst the beer (served straight from the barrel via enamel jugs) is excellent, the food is whatever the farmer has available (it is a working farm with a pub in the front room). I was rather disappointed to find, a few years ago, that they had added inside toilets, previously one had to walk through the house and out into the farm-yard. Don't ask for lager, it sometimes takes a while to find the key for the glass-fronted cabinet where they keep the(!) bottle. elansprint72 Posted April 24, 2008 Share #28 Posted April 24, 2008 Pete, I do believe you have identified where we will luncheon. I thought that might catch your interest! We have had wet weather for the last couple of years, hopefully spring will be fully sprung by the 5th of May. My car will be on the "Lotus lawn" which is where this shot was taken from, front of house, look towards the "lake", over to the left, slightly raised up. Welcome, dear visitor!
