What time do you suggest my dog and I arrive to avoid the riff-raff? :)

(Just had an email as follows, if you are thinking of bringing your own furry friend)

Dear Mr Barton,

Thank you for your email.

Dogs are allowed into the gardens/grounds on May 5th as long as they are kept on the lead.

Kind regards

Rupert Richards

Just need to decide which classic wheel to use now... :D

It is not a very large place, it would be difficult not to bump into each other. There is a cafe on the site but it tends to get overwhelmed by the numbers of visitors.

The Harrington Arms is within five minutes walk and whilst the beer (served straight from the barrel via enamel jugs) is excellent, the food is whatever the farmer has available (it is a working farm with a pub in the front room). I was rather disappointed to find, a few years ago, that they had added inside toilets, previously one had to walk through the house and out into the farm-yard. :) Don't ask for lager, it sometimes takes a while to find the key for the glass-fronted cabinet where they keep the(!) bottle. :D

Pete, I do believe you have identified where we will luncheon.

:D I thought that might catch your interest!

We have had wet weather for the last couple of years, hopefully spring will be fully sprung by the 5th of May. My car will be on the "Lotus lawn" which is where this shot was taken from, front of house, look towards the "lake", over to the left, slightly raised up.

I was planning on getting there 10:30 - 11:00.

That will be fine for me too.

I was working out it must be 33 years since I was last in the Harrington Arms (a University friend lived in Gawsworth) Glad to see it has not changed - I suppose you can always pee outside anyway as long as you have your right hand on your wheel! :D:D

Thanks everyone for an enjoyable day – especially the forum driver – even if he wouldn't let me bring a Ricoh.

My – what a spiffing CCTV T-shirt I'm modeling in the above picture!

Anyone for Morecambe?

Thanks to Mrs Muffins for yet more excellent cakes; my boy thought they were the best bit of the day and my pal from Classic and Sportscar Magazine might give them a mention in his report!

Glad you all enjoyed the day, looking forward to Morecambe.
