Helene (presumably you mean the screw mount one? I get confused with all the names) Me too; I modified a screw mount adapter and have it coded. It's not really a focal length that I enjoy, but when I do use it, it works well. It is indeed quite good but the Leica ASPH lenses are still better when it comes to contrast and colour IMHO. But the Voigt is a bargain, go for it. I also have a 35 Summicron V4. The lenses are close in terms of size and sharpness but have a slightly different color rendition. The Summicron is warmer, like a Kodachrome with the reds and yellows glowing. The CV is ever so slightly cooler, like Velvia with the blues and greens becoming more saturated. Also, the CV seems to have a more uniform sharpness where the Summicron has creamy edges with a razor sharp center. Like I said, these differences are very slight and you might never notice unless you're processing lots of RAW files. I like the Summicron look better but the CV 35 is without a doubt one of the best little lenses out there. Tom Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Classic is really nice too with its hood and focus tab (all the CV 35 2.5 lenses are optically the same by the way). For the price you really shouldn't hesitate. It works with film too! If you read the study, the CV lens outperformed both Leica lenses in center and corner resolution at some apertures. At f/2.5, wide open for the CV, it out-performed both Leica lenses at center and corner resolultion; it shows the best center resolution of any of the four tested lenses at f/4 and f/5.6. This is not a bargain lens, it may be the best lens. When a $209 lens can out-perform a $3000+ aspherical for ANY measure, then I ain't a-buyin' the Leica glass- I want to get what I pay for. Yes, I like Leica glass, it is great and expensive. But in some instances, for this lens, the CV out performs the Leica Summari and ASPH glass from (CV) wide open to f/5.6 in center and corner resolution. I merely suggested that for this lens, since the CV lens is superior in that f/stop range, there is no need to buy Leica as it is a poorer performer. I'm a customer of the Sean Reid's review and I like it but I read a lot of french reviews (Chasseur d'images and Réponses Photo) which made a great job for the technical analysis of lenses with a lot of specialised gear for that: the Summicron 35 Asph is the best lens ever tested. I know that is not enough to make good pictures, but, for me, it's hard to say that the 35 CV’s superiority is proven. François Welcome, dear visitor! I saw that this is available directly with BM : this is an advantage, even if maybe there can be problems on coding... does anyone have some direct experience on this ? I was fortunate to be able to borrow a 35 'lux and 35 'cron to compare it to, and the CV performed admirably. The differences in IQ and bokeh were very subtle, but the difference in price is not. Thanks It's what's mounted on my M8 most of the time - rated by some as good as a pre ASPH 35mm Summicron. No coding needed at all and no problems at all on an M8 unlike back focus and other issues depending on build quality/consistency some seem to have suffered with the CV 35mm Nokton.
