Doc Henry Posted February 14, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 14, 2008 Pete Good capture : it's difficult to shot this picture if you choose a speed camera like 1/500 or 1/1000 per exemple, you will have a car sharp but no notion of speed like in this photo,so...... elansprint72 Posted February 14, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted February 14, 2008 Thanks guys! I think that somewhere between the two versions is probably best. Spot-on with the identification David! This was shot in the pit lane; I had been out on the wall but it was just too dark on the track (even with the start/finish line lights on), so I thought that I'd give it a go where the cars were speed-restricted and in a much brighter area. I'm still surprised what cameras like the FZ30 (and now V-Lux1) can do when set to auto, here I would have pre-focussed and then panned and shot, leaving the electro-gizmos to sort out the rest. elansprint72 Posted February 21, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted February 21, 2008 Rob- :D:D Ron- it's not a Porsche! A book you must read is "Racing in the Rain" by John Horsman. This tells his story from running the tech side of the Aston Martins at LM, the Gulf Ford GT40s (not the Shelby bull-shit), the Gulf Mirages and then the Gulf Porsches. This is the best Motor Racing book I have ever read. Check it out.
