lars_bergquist Posted February 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have two Visoflexes, one II and one III. The optics of both prisms show what are clearly cementing lesions in the shape of several small sunburst-shaped patterns. These are now so numerous that they make the use of the prism finders difficult or impossible. I have checked other Visoflex prisms, and they have shown the same condition, in various degrees. Is there someone who is competent to disassemble the prism optics and re-cement the components? I suspect that this is an increasing problem for very many Visoflex users, and it might well put most units out of action. I would be very grateful for any recommendations. Michael Hiles Posted February 4, 2008 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2008 You might ask Gerry Smith at Kindermann Canada. I do not knwow if this is up his street, but he is very competent and will give you an honest answer and advice. I also have a Visoflex II and a III without problems. Maybe just lucky. Cheers, Michael
spydrxx Posted February 4, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 4, 2008 I haven't had the problem with my Visoflexes, but if I did, I would contact Don Goldberg (DAG) as my first thought, then Sherry Krauter - both in the USA. You can reach Don at: dagcam@chorus.net
lars_bergquist Posted February 4, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted February 4, 2008 Thanks everybody for helping. The Luton people do seem competent, and are of course not far away from Stockholm! The old man from the Age of the PLOOT
DavidStone Posted February 4, 2008 Share #6 Posted February 4, 2008 No closer to Stockholm, but Optical Instruments (Balham) Ltd. - Manufacturing, Servicing and Repair of all types of Optical Instruments are good too. I've not so far found anyone in Denmark. David
